I must say.. what do u want.. the whole aim of living a life on planet earth is to explore urself to the max.. now i dont mean.. having fun.. thats never the case.. i dont think the Divine one created you to have fun... it was part of a bigger picture.. Having fun is part of the process.. but not a priority.. Now if u can explore and self discover urself thru studying and exam based approach, then go ahead.. For me, i learn most when i am doing projects, interacting with my projectmates abt their perspectives... Exams are a must all the way to JC and prob year 1 of uni.. but after that.. u need to break free.. The Universities have to provide students with a chance to really test themselves.. Laziness and lack of effort is definitely a concern.. Now since they are not doing it now.. I really need to take it up on myself to really test myself.. Exams haven changed at all..
Book smart, street smart... or Both.. ultimately, the very reason that we are not flying in the air and not drownin in water is balance.. everything in life has a balance to it.. I feel that JC was a waste of time from the exams point of view.... to justify that.... i cant say exactly... but i just feel that in terms of moulding as a person, chemistry, physics and maths... they made me wonder really the whole point of studying.... i seriously need to be out there on the street and experiencing all the ups and downs of the work life.. Polys and ITE are doing a good job la seriously.. They are imparting proper skills to the students.. but now the crux of the issue is...what does the govt want from us.. what does our employers want from us.. we need money to survive.. for our future families, so we do what the employers want.. now thats where a leader is born.. break out from the norms or stand up and make a change.. an entrepreneur...
Just to end off with a quote abt fun and success.. which i cant stand it anymore..
"Fun is best felt and experienced when u least expect it. Success is best felt when u are prepared for it"
Lastly, maturity of thought and being independent and taking responsibility of ur own career is what university deans are looking for. So in a way, they are at fault when there is really no time to explore coz we are busy fulfilling the requirement of our degree. With NTU, I take the lead? i guess its true in a way ar... but then again.... 21 years old, finished the army and lookin for a long term ain... i am goin to find that lead and grab it!!!! Life is abt taking a stand and being responsible for it. Spoon feeding and being dependent are 2 thoughts to fault back on.. i strive to be neither.. M9, on the way to findin his lead. One exam at a time!! haha.

Haha, now examinations vs projects...
Examinations demand personal problem solving techniques, personal discipline and individual creativity. projects spur on teamwork, unity and communication skills.
Which is necessary? I believe when there is a term assessment attached to whatever activities, there bound to be negativity.
Exam smart kids end up suffering due to poor communication skills.
Over-emphasis on project provides a shortcut for people to sail pass the course, people who choose to ignore them and push responsibilities around.
So which is good? really depends on the person.
For the projects issue and students sailing thru, feedback evaluation forms would be to ensure that no student is sailing thru.. just like what they are doing now in Universities and NBS especially..
The issue is that everyone is required is required to have good communication skills and its something that can be learnt.. thru practise and experiencing it.
Depends on the person is in the end the optimal solution i guess.. Pple choose different paths.. But exams are not the way to discovering one' self..Jc curriculum doesnt do that.. I would love to be involved in the MOE syllabus feeback forum is possible...
haha... good good... so what sort of curriculum should future education officers consider?
actually one area in my mind is financial studies... people nowadays are really poor in that. it is the only subject which is the most relevant of all.
